Hello! Welcome to Intrinsic Birthing and congratulations on your upcoming birth! I'm so glad you have taken the time to research your birthing options in the Central Iowa area. You have already completed the most critical step of parenthood - knowing that you HAVE choices on this amazing journey, and that you have the right to exercise those choices! I am a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator and I am also a Labor Doula. As a note of interest, I personally attended Bradley Childbirth Classes during my own pregnancy.
Here is a quick summary of what Intrinsic Birthing is all about...
* I believe that as women we are born with an intrinsic wisdom regarding birth. That wisdom should be honored and respected.
*I believe birth is a natural process, not a medical event to be feared.
*I believe natural childbirth is the safest way to give birth for most women - but not all women.
*I believe families have the right to informed consent.
*I believe all forms of childbirth benefit from preparation and support - but natural childbirth requires it!!!
